Main duties of the job
The role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice, including clinical rooms, waiting areas, offices, and staff facilities. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning toilets and kitchens, and regularly sanitising high-touch areas. You will also be responsible for safely disposing of waste, restocking hygiene supplies, and following infection control and health and safety procedures at all times.

Clean and disinfect all clinical and non-clinical areas, including waiting rooms, consulting rooms, treatment rooms, offices, and staff areas

Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures (e.g., cleaning schedules, colour-coded equipment)

Safely handle and dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste in accordance with guidelines
-
Clean floors (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing as required)
-
Clean surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and fittings, including high-touch areas (door handles, light switches)
-
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
-
Maintain cleanliness of toilets and kitchen areas
-
Report maintenance issues, hazards, or low stock levels to management

Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations

Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly
