Job summary

Reception / Administration role within a busy general practice. Friendly, forward thinking supportive team. We have a positive working environment and team working is paramount.

This main aim of this role is to provide an effective and efficient reception / administration service to all our patients and other visitors to the surgery.

Main duties of the job

We require good communication skills, both written and verbal. A person confident with IT and computers. A person who is calm, level headed and has a sense of humour. A person who can deal with a variety of situations.

The main duties are answer telephone calls, booking, cancelling or amending appointments. Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Dealing with queries. Supporting colleagues. Scanning documents. Dealing with test results.

The duties of a Receptionist / Administrator are varied and broad and it would be difficult to list them all.

About us

Our organisation is team based and we work as a "family" unit. We support and respect each other.

We have a small team dealing with administration and reception. 6 GP Partners and 1 Salaried GP, 5 members of the nursing team. We are part of a friendly and proactive local Primary Care Network. As part of our team we have pharmacists, physiotherapist, midwife, and we are looking to expand our clinical team.

All eligible members of staff are in the NHS Pension Scheme or alternative. 5.6 weeks holiday (plus Bank Holidays), uniform provided by the practice, social outings.
