Job summary

The post-holder will work closely with, and under the direction of the PCN Business Manager. The role is in support of the PCN to adopt digital solutions and drive operational improvements. The role is crucial in enhancing patient experience, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with national digital health strategies. The position will be primarily based at our Unicity Practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintaining and updating information on the organisation's website.
  • Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
  • Provide support for health campaigns, using MJOG and direct text messaging through TPP system one and the practice website.
  • Contribute to and maintain the PCN Digital and IT strategy
  • Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, health posters, handouts, direct mail leaflets across the practice domain.
  • Fostering community relations through the Patient Participation Group (PPG).
  • Meet with the PPG on a quarterly basis and report the wishes of the PPG to the PM via operations meetings.
  • To undertake specific assigned tasks, project support, or development/change work which may arise from time to time.
  • Receive, investigate, and resolve patient complaints, using the practice complaints procedure.
  • Receive, and carry out processes for all In-house Significant Events.
  • Training requirements will be monitored by yearly appraisal. Personal development will be encouraged and supported by the practice. It is the individuals responsibility to remain up to date with recent developments

About us

The Brunel Primary Care Network consists of three Practices across Portsmouth; East Shore Partnership, The Lighthouse Group and University Surgery.

We have highly skilled and motivated teams working within our PCN, which consist of GP Partners, Salaried GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Diabetes and Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Nurses, GP Assistant's and HCA's; who are supported by skilled administration teams.

OVERVIEW

The post-holder will work closely with, and under the direction of the Digital and Transformation Lead, to improve communications and Digital transformation standards across the PCN domain. The position is suitable for someone who wishes to demonstrate initiative and to develop their own skills further with a view to future progression.

MAIN PURPOSES

To provide support to the managerial team in all areas of Digital Transformation & communication work.

Maintaining and updating information on the organisation's website.

Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Provide support for health campaigns, using MJOG and direct text messaging through TPP system one and the practice website.

Contribute to and maintain the PCN Digital and IT strategy

Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, health posters, handouts, direct mail leaflets across the practice domain.

Fostering community relations through the Patient Participation Group (PPG).

Meet with the PPG on a quarterly basis and report the wishes of the PPG to the PM via operations meetings.

To undertake specific assigned tasks, project support, or development/change work which may arise from time to time.

Receive, investigate, and resolve patient complaints, using the practice complaints procedure.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Health & safety:

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, the practice Health & Safety manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include:

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and keeping them free from hazards
  • Actively reporting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
  • Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role
  • Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually)
  • Reporting potential risks identified
  • Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
