A Practice General Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a The Lighthouse Group GP surgery. This position involves providing administrative support to healthcare professionals, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate records. Main duties of the job

Welcoming patients to the surgery and addressing their queries. Scheduling and managing appointments using practice management software. Handling telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.

Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.

Processing referrals and medical forms accurately and efficiently.

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including scanning, filing, coding and distributing documents.

Supporting clinical staff with day-to-day tasks and liaising between departments.

Monitoring office supplies and coordinating restocking as needed.

Assisting in the preparation of reports, audits, and practice meetings.

Ensuring adherence to NHS and practice policies and procedures.

Maintaining knowledge of current healthcare systems and regulations.

Communicating effectively with patients, staff, and external organisations.
