About us

1. BACKGROUND

The practice has occupied the Tramways site, shared with Dr Bradleyand Partners at Holme Lane since March 1993.

The Practice has steadily grown along with the services made available to patients and in 2003/04 the practice saw yet another opportunity to further develop and was granted permission to build a second surgery on Middlewood Road, Sheffield 6. The Practice worked with the Sheffield Primary Care Trust to develop not just a medical centre but a primary health care centre two thirds of which would deliver community and secondary care services to patients in the city.

We occupy approximately one third of the building known as Fairlawns with the other space occupied by the NHS Property Services who sublet to other services, a dental practice and a pharmacy. There is further potential to introduce new services into the building. We currently have health visitors and district nurses sharing the premises. The primary health care centre as a whole is seen as an example of good practice and innovation and provides the opportunity to move services from a hospital setting into the community.
