Project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Work as part of the Care navigation / Administration team helping each other to perform duties in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures

To work in accordance of written protocols

Perform administration duties, including recalls and scanning

Personal assistant to a named GP Partner

Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records

Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area)

Reception

Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team

Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary

Care Navigation

Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person

Care Navigate patients to other allied health professionals and services available

Home visit requests

Telephone

Contacting patients for clinics, passing information from GPs and other health care professionals

Handling patient calls

Other tasks

Clear rooms after surgeries

Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors, windows and alarm

Any other tasks allocated by managers

About us

We are an 8 partner GP Surgery working from one central town location with staff parking. We have a staff of 31 and promote team working within all departments to ensure a positive working environment and ensuring excellent patient care is achieved.

The role is initially a fixed contract of 15 hours per week, working Monday 8am to 4.30 pm and Wednesday 9.45 am to 6.15 pm. There may be additional hours available.

Health and Safety

The post holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice health and safety policy, the practice health and safety manual and the practice infection control policy and published procedures. This will include:

Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines

Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks

Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills

Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards

Actively reporting a health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised

Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role

Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually)
