Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse who is NMC registered and able to work up to 4 days a week. The role is to provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for our patients as well as providing nursing support to our doctors and other members of our healthcare team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join our dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical personnel and be expected to carry out the duties of a practice nurse within a general practice setting. This would include immunisations, dressings, cervical smears, injections, and chronic disease management. Full Job Description available on request.

About us

Here at Irchester Surgery we have a current list size of roughly 4000 patients. We have another GP Surgery based in Finedon with roughly 1500 patients. The candidate would be required to work at both practices.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within the boundaries of competence and to acknowledge limitations.

Advise patients on healthcare within Chronic Illnesses. To give advice and educate patients about their health conditions.

Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients records.

Ensure that the clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded and amended.

Ensure appropriate items of service claims are made accurately reporting any problems to the practice administrator.

Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patients healthcare and registration within the Practice.

Attend and participate in Practice Meetings and Nurses meetings as required.

Report any problems to the Practice Manager

To carry out duties such as; Smears, Swabs, Dressings, Contraception and Injections including child immunisations.

Liaise with other health care professionals, HCAs, GPs etc.

To carry out necessary admin duties such as stock checks , audits, PGDs
