Job summary
We
are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and dependable part time Prescription Clerk/Reception navigator to join our team.
The Prescription Clerk/ Reception navigator will process prescription requests, ensure only appropriate tasks are sent to the pharmacists or GPs, support the reception team in locating prescriptions & covering during busy times in reception.
Main duties of the job
You will support in the management of the repeat prescribing process, helping to manage repeat prescription requests, resolving queries where possible and producing prescriptions for clinical review and signature.
To ensure patients have appropriate monitoring tests in place when required.
Day to day handling of prescription queries within area of own competence
To promote and implement electronic repeat dispensing in appropriate patients; to promote online ordering of prescriptions.
Assist the pharmacist/pharmacist technician with administration and source alternative medication where supply issues arise.
To ensure repeat medication is issued in line with the protocols that are already in place and ensure that any queries raised are dealt with quickly and correctly.

Job responsibilities
- To process
repeat medication requests from online/emails at least twice daily.
- To collect
repeat prescription requests from the post box and reception.
- To liaise
with patients and chemists regarding queries and requests.
- To ensure
repeat medication is issued in line with the protocols that are already in
place, and ensure that any queries raised are dealt with quickly and
correctly.
- To ensure
that patient queries on medication are highlighted to the relevant
pharmacist or GP.
- To regularly
audit, record and remove uncollected prescriptions.
- To source
alternative medication where shortages, discontinued or manufacturer
cant supply exists.
- Ensure
patients who require medication reviews have appointments booked with the
appropriate clinician.
- To work
alongside our prescription team to ensure medications are issued safely.
- Covering reception during busy times.
