Medics PCN are looking a newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career? Medics Primary Care Network are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract.
You will be a highly motivated and dedicated Newly Qualified GP to join our multidisciplinary team under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across the PCN.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, mental health practitioners, and social prescribers, to ensure integrated patient care.
- Conduct consultations, assessments, and follow-ups with patients, utilising ARRS-funded services to support patient needs.
- Contribute to the management of chronic disease, health promotion, and disease prevention in line with best practices and PCN goals.
- Support the development and implementation of new care pathways that align with ARRS objectives.

The Medics Primary Care Network (PCN) serves a population of
circa 59,000 patients residing across the Luton in Bedfordshire and is a mature
and established Limited Company.
Working collaboratively with other partners to strengthen
and support the delivery of Primary Care services. The PCN consists of 5 core
GP practices Woodland Avenue Practice, Medici Medical Practice, Gardenia &
Marsh Farm Practice, Bell House Medical Centre & Barton Hills Medical
Group.
Medics PCN have a dedicated network site where many of the
MDT, personalised care team and clinicians work collaboratively to deliver a
pro-active approach to patient care.

Job responsibilities
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- The post-holder will be required to visit patients during surgery time in an emergency if clinically indicated.
- The post-holder will undertake a fair % of On Call sessions per week as allocated on the practice rota and participate in the extended hours enhanced service.
