We are seeking a salaried GP to join our busy practice, 4 sessions a week on a Wednesday and Friday.
The Reynard Surgery is a warm, well established GP practice in Red Lodge with a GOOD CQC registation. Red Lodge is a rural village on the out skirts of Bury St Edmunds with an ever growing patient population that is currently at just over 10k.
We have a younger population with many families moving into the local area due to new building developments in the immediate area. We have a strong reputation for high quality, patient centred primary care.
We are a friendly, collaborative practice with a focus on continuity, safety, and creating a positive working environment. We are part of the large Forest Heath PCN which has approximately 73k patients, we work collaboratively as part of this. You will be joining a team that works cohesively across clinical and administrative roles to ensure manageable workloads and excellent care for our patients.
Main duties of the job
The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care:
- Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery face to face, online and telephone consultations, and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion;
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
- Providing health education;
- Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
- Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
- Delivering enhanced services;
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
