maternity cover commencing April 2025, 17hrs per week over two days
Our Practice Nurses are key to
providing an excellent service to our patients and are responsible for general
treatment room skills, including wound management, travel and childhood
immunisations and phlebotomy. We are
looking for an experienced Practice Nurse who has excellent communication skills, a
passion for patient care, and a strong commitment to providing quality
healthcare services.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for:
- Delivery of routine practice nursing services.
- Chronic disease management within boundaries of own competence.
- Health screening as required by the Practice.
- Delivery of minor injury services within the scope of own experience.
- Monitoring and ordering clinical supplies.

Job responsibilities
- Ensuring
that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered promptly
- Ensure
complete and accurate documentation of every patient contact.
- Follows
all relevant policies and procedures.
- Venepuncture
and collection and processing of pathology samples.
- Monitor
stock levels and order clinical supplies if required by Practice.
- INR
star, ECG and spirometry testing if required and on completion of training.
- Routine
injections as prescribed by the GP.
- Ear
irrigation if required and on completion of training.
- Wound
care including compression bandaging and Doppler tests if trained.
- Attending
leg club to assist with compression bandaging and Doppler tests if trained and
if required.
- Sexual
health and contraception advice if trained.
- Cervical
cytology if trained.
- Home
visits for flu vaccinations if required.
- Immediate
care as per Minor Injuries service within scope of experience.
- Delivery

domiciliary visits if required.

as part of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams in order to ensure
patients needs.
