We are offering an opportunity for two doctors to join our incredibly friendly team, in our purpose-built practice. Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role involve but are not limited to, patient consultations, physical examinations, and the diagnosis and management of various medical conditions. GPs play a pivotal role in chronic disease management, offering ongoing care and coordinating with specialists when necessary.

  • Support from GP Assistant:work collaboratively with a GP Assistant (GPA) who will provide valuable assistance, allowing you to optimise your efficiency and effectiveness in patient care.

Clinical responsibilities:

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion this would include, but not be limited to, responsibility for providing services to the list of patients on the post-holder's list.

Supervision of allied health professionals such as Physician Associate, Paramedic, Pharmacist and Nurses.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.

Providing counselling and health education.

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

Collecting data for audit purposes.

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).

Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

  • Membership of the Royal College of general Practitioners or equivalent in training if approved by the Royal College of General Practitioners.
  • Certificate of MRCGP.
  • Registered GP with the GMC (included on the GP Register).

  • Certificate of satisfactory immune status re: Hepatitis B and other relevant viruses.
  • Membership of a Medical Defence Organisation (MPS, MDU or MDDUS).
