Job summary
To support the smooth and efficient running of the practice by delivering a comprehensive, high-quality reception service to patients, visitors, healthcare professionals, colleagues, and associated organisations.
The role acts as the first point of contact for all visitors to the practice, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and patient-focused experience at all times.
Main duties of the job
You will offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, whether in person or via the telephone.
Assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines and standard operating procedures.
When dealing with patients, you must be compassionate and discrete.

About us:
- Approx. 17,000 patient practice in rural Wiltshire and Dorset
- Main surgery at Salisbury with branch surgeries at Larkhill, Sixpenny Handley and Broad Chalke

- Part of the Salisbury Plain PCN with expanding team which includes for our practice Paramedic and Care-coordinator (Home Visiting Team), Social Prescribers, First Contact Physiotherapist and a GPA.

- On-site dispensary located in at our branch site in Larkhill and Sixpenny Handley
- SystmOne Web clinical system, also using Cinapsis, AccuRX, SystmConnect, T-Quest and TeamNet.
- Full complement administration team who oversee letter processing, insurance reports, solicitor reports and all other non-NHS works, safeguarding reports and referrals.
- Enhanced hours as part of our PCN network of practices
- 1 intermediate care bed which we provide a weekly on-site clinic with limited number of patients.
