GP Practice Nurse

Job summary

Riverside Surgery is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse ideally working looking to work between 25-37.5 hours per week.

The ideal candidate would already have all basic practice nursing skills including cytology, baby immunisations, treatment room etc. plus chronic disease experience of diabetes and family planning qualifications but, for the right candidate, we would be willing to support training to achieve these skills.

Riverside GP Practice is friendly GP Practice in Evesham. We have over 15750 registered patients and 13 GP's. We are also a dispensing Practice and at the forefront of IT development. We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our busy GP Practice.

Main duties of the job

The main duties and responsibilities are as follows.

1. Meeting patients nursing care needs as identified, or where care has been transferred to her by a GP. This will usually be in surgery but occasional home visits will also be required.

2. Initiating and maintaining health screening and promotion clinics for identified areas of the practice population, recognising where modification of systems or referral is necessary.

3. Managing the nursing care of patients with chronic disease, employing personal recall systems suitable to the practice needs. This includes using the practice computer systems for input of information for recall and screening purposes. Accurate and efficient input of data for GMS contract purposes is also required.
