Job summary
Working as part of a Reception / Secretarial team to ensure we deliver a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the practice team.
To learn and develop in the skills required to be a exceptional Medical Administrator and Secretary. Always ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered.
Main duties of the job
Greet and direct patients and visitors
Make appointments using the Care Navigation Templates.
Deal with Patient queries both face to face and over the telephone in a kind and professional manner
Take requests for prescriptions
Collect payments from patients for non NHS services
Sort and date stamp all incoming patient related mail
Scan, action and code patient related documents onto their medical records, ensuring any such documents are forwarded to the appropriate clinician for action
Deal with a wide variety of Administrative tasks
About us
We are looking for a full time Medical Administrator / Secretary to join our team at Pelton & Fellrose Medical Group. The ideal candidate should be able to work as part of a team or on their own, show initiative and have a flexible approach of working. They will be required to support both Clinical and Non Clinical staff, be comfortable talking on the telephone, dealing with patients face to face, carry out a wide variety of complex administrative duties.

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- IT Skills
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Time management and the ability to work to deadlines

- Experience of working in General Practice
