Main duties of the job

What are we looking for?

• Session Commitment: We require a commitment of 6 sessions per week to be worked on Monday, Tuesday and Friday
• Clinical Triage: Tuesday afternoons will be dedicated to clinical triage and duty doctor cover. With admin support provided by the reception team, you will be responsible for triaging patients medical and administration requests including the efficient allocation of appointments. This afternoon requires presence in the surgery from 1pm to 6:30 pm, but, it will involve fewer direct patient consultations with only a short duty clinic in the afternoon. It includes dealing with patient queries that do not need an appointment such as prescriptions, test results and fit notes.
• Clinical Sessions: The other 5 sessions will involve typical salaried GP duties, including a mix of telephone and face-to-face appointments and administrative tasks including emails, tasks, results, prescriptions, reports, Docman and QoF.
• Annual Leave Cover:You will be expected to cover colleagues' annual leave, including covering triage and duty sessions. In return, your leave will also be covered, ensuring a balanced and supportive work environment.
