Job summary
We are looking to recruit a friendly and motivated Salaried GP to join our supportive and well-established team at Theale Medical Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP seeking flexible working within a welcoming practice that values teamwork, wellbeing, and high-quality patient care.
The role offers 46 sessions per week, with salary negotiable and dependent on experience. You will have a dedicated patient list, based on approximately 250 patients per session, supported by strong clinical and administrative teams. A structured induction is provided for all new salaried GPs, with ongoing support to help you settle into the role.
We are happy to offer flexibility around working patterns and would welcome informal visits or shadowing sessions for prospective applicants.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical care as a Salaried GP, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. The role involves managing a dedicated patient list, conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations, reviewing clinical correspondence and results, and contributing to the practices clinical governance and quality improvement activities. The GP will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, support continuity of care, and contribute to the safe and effective delivery of services in line with practice and NHS guidance.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the Salaried GP will deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care while contributing to continuity of care, clinical governance, and service development within the practice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide general medical services to patients, including face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations
- Manage a dedicated patient list, based on approximately 250 patients per session
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with NICE, local, and national guidance
- Review and action clinical correspondence, pathology results, and investigations in a timely manner
- Provide continuity of care and appropriate follow-up for patients
Multidisciplinary Working
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, pharmacists, paramedics, and wider PCN colleagues
- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and shared decision-making
- Support trainees, students, and new staff where appropriate
Clinical Governance and Quality
- Contribute to clinical governance activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in significant event analysis and learning
- Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records
- Comply with CQC, GMC, and NHS requirements
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain GMC registration and revalidation requirements
- Engage in annual appraisal and ongoing CPD
