rescription Clerk 34 hours per week
Theale Medical Centre is looking to recruit a Prescription Clerk to support the safe, accurate, and timely processing of prescriptions within our GP practice.
This role focuses on managing prescription requests and associated administrative tasks, working closely with GPs, the clinical pharmacist, and the dispensary team. You will play an important role in supporting patient safety by identifying overdue medication reviews and blood tests, and by assisting with quality requirements such as DSQS and PQS.
Working hours are fixed and structured across the week, providing consistency:

Monday: 10:00 to 17:30

Tuesday: 09:00 to 18:00

Wednesday: 10:00 to 18:00

Thursday: 12:00 to 18:00

Friday: 12:00 to 18:00
Total: 34 hours per week
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be confident using clinical systems such as EMIS and Docman, and be able to manage a busy workflow while working closely with the wider practice team. Training and support will be provided.

Process prescription requests accurately and in a timely manner using EMIS and Docman

Add and manage medication requests in line with practice policies

Identify and flag patients requiring medication reviews or overdue monitoring, including blood tests

Liaise with GPs, the clinical pharmacist, and dispensary staff to support safe prescribing

Respond to prescription related patient queries and escalate where appropriate

Support prescription audits and quality requirements such as DSQS and PQS

Maintain accurate records and contribute to efficient workflow within the practic
