Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Administrator to join our dedicated team, here at Brookside Group Practice. If you have office admin experience or perhaps you are a graduate looking for a new challenge? Looking to work between 25-28 hours a week? How about joining our friendly, dedicated team?
The successful candidate will work as part of the team, managing key tasks including:
- Medical note sorting and summarising
- Coding
- Clinical paperwork
- Patient online access
- Processing all referrals for the clinical team
IT literacy, together with EMIS experience would be preferred, although not essential, as training will be provided

Main duties of the job
Medical note sorting/summarising
- Working to the practice protocol ensure sets of medical notes are sorted date order or prioritised appropriately.
- Enter all relevant clinical data on to the computer records accurately using the correct priorities.
- Remove any entries that are not in line with the practice protocol.
Coding/Admin
- Identify relevant clinical information contained in patient correspondence.
- Code or free text the clinical information on to the patient record.
- Scanning, indexing (electronic filing) and workflow of clinical correspondence.
Clinical paperwork
- To complete targeted PMAs, solicitors forms and other forms as directed, answering questions honestly and discretely using appropriate judgement & confidentiality.
Patient online access
- Follow agreed practice protocol to facilitate patient online access and proxy access on the clinical system.
- Support and assist PST Admin with any patient queries about access and information visible on patient records.
General Secretarial Team Responsibilities
- Opening and distributing post across the practice.
- Manage all incoming EMIS task requests from clinicians and PST.
- Processing all referrals for the clinical team.
