Job summary
We are looking for a an enthusiastic and proactive Paramedic to join our multi-disciplinary team for 25-32 hours per week.
The paramedic will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The paramedic will provide a holistic and clinical service, with support from GPs as required, implementing agreed management plans, and following approved protocols as appropriate. Supervision will be provided by designated GP at the practice.
Role may also include doing clinical triage.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Services
Undertake acute assessments of patients within their own homes, making clinical judgements as to their further treatment.
Prescribing medications to patients in line with local PSD.
Empowering patients to take responsibility for managing their own care and treatment where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Responsibility for Administration
Ensure complete and accurate documentation of every patient contact, including advice given. Records must be accurate and reflect the clinical activity in accordance with professional guidelines on clinical record keeping.
To complete all referral processes and liaise with outside agencies regarding these referrals as needed.
To provide regular support and feedback to practice on patients at risk of being admitted to hospital.
