Job summary

Brookside Group Practice has a permanent position for a Treatment Room Nurse, working between 24 - 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team and be responsible for consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs.

A good working knowledge of computers and experience of keeping concise medical notes is important, as well as being a good communicator, having the ability to work on their own initiative and being part of a flexible team.

Brookside Group Practice is an innovative, unique, large 4 site practice working as Earley + Primary Care Network, managing approximately 31,000 patients. Our team of around 130 people includes many allied health professionals, including a thriving health and wellbeing team dealing with most mental health conditions alongside doctors, physician associates and MIND services, MSK practitioners, pharmacists, paramedics, nurses, healthcare assistants, support, and administration staff.

We are a training practice, use the EMIS Clinical system and have a strong emphasis on proactive teamwork.

The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team and be responsible consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs. These patients will have booked appointments or telephone calls.

Tasks include -

Phlebotomy

ECGs

Removal of sutures/clips

Urinalysis

Wound care/dressings

Health promotion advice

Contraception pill & depo repeats

Cervical cytology

Child and adult vaccinations

Hypertension management
