Job summary

Regal Chambers Surgery is seeking an experienced GP receptionist with excellent communication and customer service skills to join our friendly team. The successful applicant will help deliver admin and reception services in order to support high standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will have the ability to understand the differing needs of others and be able to prioritise these within their own workload; have good attention to detail and be able to keep up to speed within an evolving and busy environment; enjoy working as part of a team whilst having the confidence to work independently.

Reliable attendance and timekeeping are essential and some flexibility to cover different shifts when the need arises would be desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • Arrange appointments (face to face, via telephone and online consults)
  • Answer incoming calls from patients, clinicians in hospital/community/ambulance etc
  • Registration of new patients
  • Process repeat prescriptions/deal with prescription queries
  • Actioning tasks from doctors and wider team
