Job summary

We are seeking two motivated and approachable Receptionists to join our dedicated primary care team at The GP Suite. We are recruiting for two part-time positions: one for 20 hours per week and one for 25 hours per week, both worked across five days.

As key members of our front-of-house and administrative team, you will play an essential role in ensuring patients receive high-quality, timely, and person-centred care. Main duties of the job

Provide a welcoming first point of contact for patients and support them in accessing the most appropriate care.

Manage appointments including booking, amending and prioritising urgent needs.

Signpost patients to suitable services such as community pharmacy or wider community support.

Handle incoming telephone calls efficiently, including transferring calls, taking accurate messages and supporting the practices telephone system.

Process repeat prescriptions accurately following practice policies.

Record and coordinate home visit requests and prepare information for clinicians.

Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, email management, handling post and maintaining patient records.

Maintain confidentiality, uphold data protection standards and contribute to safe, effective running of the practice.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient care and contribute to practice quality and improvement activities.

The GP Suite is a friendly and well-established GP practice based in Jarrow, caring for approximately 4,550 patients. Our clinical team comprises two GP Partners, one Advanced Clinical Practitioner, and two Practice Nurses, supported by a highly experienced administration, reception, and management team.
