Job summary

We are looking for an experience GP Receptionist to compliment our existing Reception Team to work as a Bank team member to assist with cover for substantive postholder absences. You will need to be patient focused and have had gained experience of working in a GP environment. The ability to work flexibly to cover from 8:00 am shifts and also work up to 6:30 pm shift is essential and also work on Saturdays as and when required on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

The main duties for the postholder are:

Previous experience gained working as GP Receptionist or in a healthcare role.

Greeting patients, both in person and over the telephone.

Booking appointments for patients for the practice and across the Primary Care Network (PCN).

Well organised and ability to deal with multiple tasks and queries.

Confident in the use of the Computer system and clinical system (EMIS)

Office administration

About us

Newbridge Surgery is a small, friendly but busy GP Surgery located in Tettenhall. We are situated on the main access road and have easy access to a bus network. We offer free car parking for staff.

General practice is a fast paced environment and we are looking for someone who enjoys the challenges that a GP environment can bring. We need someone able to work ad-hoc for cover on reception on a shift basis.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Care Navigate patients to the most appropriate clinician/resource.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team
