Job summary

We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team at Rowcroft Medical Centre.

The Practice prides itself on creating a warm, welcoming environment for staff and patients. We provide quality clinical care to approximately 12,000 patients and have worked to establish close connections within the local community, including nursing and residential homes, pharmacies, the District Nursing Team and other healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

Actively partake in duties associated with general practice nursing, in line with Practice policies and procedures. Which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Dressings and wound care
  • Vaccinations
  • Cervical Screening
  • Long term condition reviews
  • Opportunistic health promotion
  • Stock monitoring
  • Clinical administration
  • Infection control tasks

About us

Our clinical team consists of four GP Partners, four salaried GPs, a Nurse Manager, three Practice Nurses, one HCA, two Care Co-ordinators and one Phlebotomist as well as the extended team of Pharmacists and Social Prescribers.

Our established Management Team consists of a Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager supported by a Finance Officer and Senior Patient Adviser. We also have a committed team of Patient Advisors and Administrators.

We are also a training practice with GP Registrars on placement with us.

We aim to work collaboratively to ensure we are achieving the high standards that we attain to and are providing care to our patients to be proud of. To encourage an ethos of us working together as a team, we have small gifts at special times of the year and have a big, post Christmas celebration. There is also always something delicious in the kitchen too!

To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.
