Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a GP Receptionist and admin person at a semi rural GP Surgery in Toddington. Minimum 25 hours over 5 days is essential. 5.6 Weeks AL (Pro rata, very competitive pay (best in area)
Varied work, Patient facing role in reception, other admin duties (Coding, Scanning, GP letters processing, e-consult, processing registrations and prescription clerking) and full training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have Strong Customer skills, Willingness to provide solutions, Help patients with all aspects of appointments and follow ups and a genuine ambassador for great care.
Must have Keen desire to support transitioning to the 10 year NHS Plan from hospital to community; from analogue to digital; from treatment to prevention.

Main duties of the job
Job Description:
- Answering phone calls and greeting patients face to face
- Booking/cancelling appointments using signposting
- Taking a turn sitting on the front desk front facing role
- Handling prescription requests
- Monitoring surgery emails; replying and actioning
- Handling of incoming post
- Be able to cover leave requests
- Registrations/Deductions
- Scanning and reading clinical correspondence and actioning/filing/forwarding to the GP as per the practice protocol
- Actioning reception task box
- Downloading electronic mail
- Safeguarding emails actioning following surgery protocol
- Actioning requests for online services
- Dealing with basic patient enquiries without supervision that do not require a manager or GP attention.
- Assisting with photocopying of notes when required
- Providing and recording receipts for payment from patients for non NHS work
- Desire to be trained to all aspects of surgery administration
- Various ad hoc admin duties as delegated by the line manager.
- Understand as work as part of a Team; Essential knowledge of Team Values
About us
We are a semi rural GP Medical Centre in the village of Toddington with a friendly team of staff. On site parking available for staff. We are active surgeryin the Primary Care Net Work. We thrive on trying new ideas, and working towards a 30 minute maximum waiting time for patients both for Face to face and Telephone appointments. Our team work exceptionally hard, arriving well before the start of the shift / rota to ensure that the team functions smoothly.

- Experience of working in an office environment as a receptionist or administrator desirable

- Be able to provide a reference from a current/recent employer
- Genuine interest in Healthcare (You may hold an overseas qualification, School Leaver or Aspiring to study medicine, Nursing or allied health care disciplines)
