Role
summary:The Locum GP will provide general medical
services managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a
primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered
and temporary patients in a semi Rural Practice
Location: Toddington

Salary: £575 -£650 Per Day (All Inclusive)
Main
purpose of the role: To support the partners, to manage a busy
and varied clinical patient caseloads. The Locum GP will also have the opportunity
to take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment,
staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare
services for a diverse, patient list (in-house clinical services, patient
participation and health promotion). This
is a GMS Practice.
Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibilities:
To undertake a variety
of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone
consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and
signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results. (Not Exhaustive

The Practice uses SystmOne, AccuRx, e-Consult Smart inbox based Triaging and EPS
Extended Access as agreed by the partnership /

In general the post-holder will be expected to
undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP
working within primary care.
Other responsibilities with the Practice:
Assist in the teaching and training sessions with doctors, Physician Associate, Medical Students, Nurses; (Teaching Practice)
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant
practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data
protection, health and safety, annual QOF Assessment of the Practice.
Contributing to evaluation/audits
If required, attending training, Practice Meetings and events
organised by the practice or other agencies.
About us
Toddington Medical Centre is located in the heart
of Toddington, Toddingtonis a large historical village
andcivil parishin the county ofBedfordshire,
England. It is situated 5miles north-north-west ofLuton, 4 miles
(6km) north ofDunstable, 6 miles (10km) south-west ofWoburn.
As a rural practice, our catchment area extends to
South Woburn, and North Dunstable, reachable with in 10-15 minutes of driving.
Our list size is about 8000 patients with an
intended target of 10,000 patients. All of our patients are from Toddington and
near by Villages.
The practice is led by Three Partners and a
Practice Manager with full complement of ARRS staff and belong to the Titan PCN.
The surgery occupies a purpose built premises with an adjacent pharmacy serving the
village and Parking is available.
The surgery is easily accessible by bus from
Bedford, Luton and Dunstable.

- Previous Experience and RCGP Registration of 5 or more years and GMC Registration
- DBS Clearance
- Evidence of Full Immunisation required for the post
- Two Checkable Reference in the past Two years
Experience

- Appropriate Experience in General Practice (Minimum Five Years)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work as part if a multi-disciplinary team;
- Understanding of the pressures faced by GPs and healthcare teams;
- Willingness to contribute to and participate in a peer support group;
- Current registration with the GMC and appropriate representation with a recognised medical defence organisation;
- Current CRB check (undertaken less than 6 months before the date of appointment);
- Strong levels of IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the Practice uses SystmOne).
- Experience in using the Microsoft suite of programmes;
- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care case load;
- Proven ability to offer support within a clinical team and share learning points in Practice meetings;
- A good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Outcomes Framework process(QOF)
