Fireclay
Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Coder and
Administrator to join our dedicated team. This role plays a vital part in
supporting the smooth operation of our practice by managing a range of
administrative tasks, with a particular focus on processing and coding incoming patient correspondence accurately and efficiently.
The role will be based primarily at St George Health Centre in our Admin Hub and we are looking for a candidate who can offer 20-24 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Document Management -Accurately file hospital letters and other relevant
documents into patients electronic medical records.
Clinical Coding -Update patients' medical records with clinical
information based on incoming correspondence (e.g. hospital letters, discharge
summaries). Maintain accurate and current electronic medical
summaries using appropriate coding systems (e.g. SNOMED CT). Ensure correspondence is processed and workflowed to
the appropriate clinician or department, following internal protocols.
Correspondence Handling -Appropriately action incoming post and electronic
communications.
Email Processing -Monitor and manage the practices generic email
inbox and respond to or redirect emails appropriately to
support smooth communication and efficient workflow.
Administrative Support -Respond to administrative queries from staff and
patients in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.
Patient Requests -Process a variety of patient administrative requests
(e.g. updates to records, forms, general enquiries).
