Job summary
We are looking to recruit a treatment room nurse to join our established nursing team to provide care to our patients.
We can offer some flexibility on hours between Monday to Friday. With an additional 1 in 4 Saturdays per month.
Fireclay Health is a vibrant, dynamic and happy place to work. We provide health care from our two established practices at St George Health Centre and Lodgeside Surgery, the surgeries are close to each other and we offer a full complement of general practice services.
We have a large multi-disciplined team comprising of GPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics and Clinical Pharmacists.
We serve 23,000 patients across East Bristol.
We are part of a well established Primary Care Network and work with one other local practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be part of the nursing team and will be responsible for all aspects of treatment room care.
The nursing team provide a wide range of services, including wound management, child and adult immunisations, cervical cytology, sexual health and contraception, chronic disease management and travel health.

The main duties and expectations of the role are as
follows:
- As a team member, responsible for all aspects of Treatment Room
care as an autonomous practitioner eg. Cervical Cytology, Babies/childrens immunisations, Immunisations,
and vaccinations (travel), Leg ulcers, Urinalysis, Complex and compression bandaging, Wound
management, Blood Glucose Monitoring, ECGs, Minor Injuries, Venepuncture, Ear
syringing
- To
provide a high quality of patient/client care
- Participate
in setting standards for care and auditing clinical outcomes
- Involved in team discussions & meetings to ensure best practice
- Responsible
for the assessment implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
& delegating as appropriate
- Promote
& participate in maintaining a safe comfortable & therapeutic
environment
- Provide
clinical support to team colleagues
- Operate
a flexible caseload and prioritise care
- Participate
in developing strategies and implementing health promotion programmes for
clients and carers
- Facilitate
screening clinics as required
- Take
responsibility for the safe storage and administration of drugs and
equipment also use of Patient Group Directives as part of the patients
care
- Provide
specialised nursing care in a variety of settings by holistic assessment, implementation,
