Job summary
Practice Nurse Post 24 hours over 3 days
We are
recruiting a practice nurse to join our team at Westway Medical Centre who has
previous experience as a practice nurse. This is a permanent position; salary
will be based on Agenda for Change and negotiable depending on experience with
standard NHS pension.
We are a friendly GMS suburban practice
in Maghull, approximately 9,975 patients.
We are a GP training practice and strive for
continuous learning, innovation, and a supportive culture.
High QOF/LQC achievers/CQC rated good across
the board

Strong collaborative links with PCN/ ICB/ Community
provider
You will be required to undertake the full
range of practice nurse duties. Where necessary, training, support and
mentoring will be provided. We are looking for a candidate with commitment to
excellence, reliability, and adaptability.
Clinics will be face to face and telephone
consultations when required.

Job responsibilities
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.
- Offer a holistic approach to travel health by providing comprehensive advice to patients prior to travel including; vaccinations and medicines, safe sex, food hygiene, sun protection.
- Childhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines are administered under patient group directions.
- Chronic disease monitoring/reviews.
- Running well person clinics and health promotion programmes by providing a holistic assessment and lifestyle advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise.
