Job summary

Following the release of ARRS funding for GPs, Chorley Together PCN is looking to recruit a newly qualified, enthusiastic & forward-thinking GP to join our General Practice teams on an initial fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. By mutal agreement and subject to future funding an extension to this date may be possible.

Please note: to be eligible for this role, you must be within two years of certificate of completion of training at the start date of your employment and have not previously held a substantive post as a General Practitioner

You will be required to work across our practices supporting each of them through the winter period. We will support you to work across the different surgeries by providing our Clinical Director as a mentor. This is a great opportunity to get to know our practices working within Chorley, Leyland and surrounding villages, providing the successful candidate with varied experience.

We will consider applications for up to 5 sessions per week with a start date as soon as possible.

Should this vacancy attract sufficient interest it may be necessary to close the vacancy at an earlier date than advertised. We therefore suggest that you apply at an early stage to avoid disappointment.

Applications by CV to Claire Hounslea, PCN Business Manger at claire.hounslea1@nhs.net

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a salaried GP to support our health care service to continue to meet our practices' demands over the winter period. You will be expected to work from several locations across the PCN with appointments available to patients from across the network.

The post holder will need to be capable of independent travel across the network and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.

You will perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. You will provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues whilst maintaining clinical excellence. You will be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct, ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary.
