Job summary

East Croydon Medical Centre and St James Road Medical Centre Partnerships have formed a Primary Care Network to support a cohort of approximately 35,000 patients by Working at Scale, known as the Croydon Link Primary Care Network.

Are you a Pharmacy Technician, wanting a new challenge within a GP Practice environment?

Would you like a role that will help develop you further in by embedding you in our already established clinical pharmacy team?

If the answer is yes we would love to hear from you. Central Croydon GP Primary Care Network is looking to recruit a pharmacy technician on behalf of its member practices. Post holders will work at two or more GP Practice locations as specified above within Central and East Croydon and will be supported our strong established team of experienced Clinical Pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a pharmacy technician, who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists in general practice. In this role they will be supported by a senior clinical pharmacist who will develop, manage and mentor them.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient-facing role. The post holder will take responsibility for areas of chronic disease management within the practice and undertake clinical medication reviews to proactively manage patients with complex polypharmacy. The post holder will provide primary support to general practice staff with regards to prescription and medication queries.

Essential

  • Professional registration with GPhC
  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
  • Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications of a relevant nature eg FdSc in Medicines Management/Pharmacy Services; BTEC Therapeutics
