Job summary
We are a busy GP surgery looking for a p[art time medical receptionist.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all our patients and will be willing to take part in all aspects of the surgery activity. Duties will include, but not limited to:
Front of house reception desk, dealing with patients face to face, by telephone and by email and online communications.
Prior experieince of working in General practice would be an advantage but training for the right person will be provided.

Main duties of the job
To maintain the day-to-day smooth operation of reception processes, associated administrative processes and telephone systems.
To ensure patients are offered a high quality, efficent, effective service which is confidential, professional, knowlegeable and polite at all times.
To provide a first line of conatct for patients both face to face and via telecoms and IT.
Meeting and greeting patients and visitors
Booking, amending and cancelling appointments
Care navigation of patients to the most appropriate clinician or service.
Processing / emails and sorting post
Any other duties as rquired by the GP practice and consistent with the role

Main Responsibilities of the Post:
- To deal with all queries from patients, thier representatives and or visitors at the reception desk or over the telephone
- The manage general and internal queries
- The take and route any messages in a clear and accurate manner
- To deal with patient requests as efficiently as possible in a polite and confidential manner
- Book, change or cancel appointments
- Handle requests for Home Visits in line with practice protocol
- Manage prescription request
- Take and log fees for private work undertaken by the practice in line with practice policy
- Maintain the good order of the reception area and other work areas and waiting rooms
- Ensure daily tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to all practice protocols and policies at all times
- Support and contribute to personal and team development
- Undertake additional work that may be reasonably assigned to the post
- Attend practice meetings and training events
- Undertake mandatory training in a timely manner
- Work flexibly when required to help cover staff absences and holidays
- undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as required by management or the partners
