Job summary
We
are seeking an enthusiastic, newly qualified GP (within the last 2 years) to
join our practice as part of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative team focused on

The
successful candidate will be employed by the practice (Not PCN) and will benefit from
structured support, mentorship, and development opportunities. This role is
ideal for early-career GPs looking to work in a multidisciplinary setting and
contribute to the evolution of primary care.
You will be expected to work across both our Barlborough (Main site) and Renishaw (Branch) surgeries.
Main duties of the job
Provide
routine and same-day clinical consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and
online).
Take
part in the practice on-call rota.
Conduct
home visits as required.
Manage
repeat prescription requests and medical correspondence.
Assess
undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations, initiating appropriate
investigations and referrals.
Develop
personalised care plans in line with practice protocols.
Offer
health education, advice, and lifestyle counselling.
Maintain
accurate and timely clinical records.
Participate
in audit, clinical governance, and service improvement initiatives.
Prescribe
safely and in accordance with the local prescribing formulary.
About us
Barlborough Medical Practice is a friendly forward thinking GP practice in Barlborough, North East Derbyshire, and a member of the NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB.
The Practice is a semi rural dispensing practice run from 2 sites, a main surgery at Barlborough, and a branch at Renishaw.
We are seeking to recruit a Salaried GP Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), who would work from both of these sites:-
- Patient list size 8,400+
- Four Partners (3 GP & 1 PM)
- Clinical System: TPP SystmOne
- NHS Pension Scheme
- 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata to full time)
- We are looking for a GP to work 4 sessions per week (preferably Thursday/Friday), with optional extra overtime
- Each session reflects a BMA
session = 4 hours 10 minutes

- Fully qualified GP with UK GMC registration.
- Inclusion on the National Performers List (Derbyshire).
- Qualified within 2 years with no previous substantive GP employment.
- Clear enhanced DBS check.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Familiarity with SystmOne.
- Experience with vulnerable or underserved populations.
- Previous involvement in quality improvement or service evaluation.
- UK Driving License.
