Job summary

Our receptionist team undertake a wide variety of tasks including, checking patients in for their appointments, booking appointments, answering telephone queries, helping patients with any queries, allocation of documents and stocking up of clinical rooms.

The role would suit someone who is good at multitasking, and problem-solving with an empathetic nature, who has a passion for helping patients and providing excellent customer service.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have previous patient or customer-facing experience and excellent communication skills.

Within this environment, it is necessary to remain calm and maintain a high level of attention to detail. The successful applicant will be able to help manage the workload efficiently and effectively daily to facilitate the patients' care being as smooth and efficient as possible.

We will provide the training necessary to use our clinical system, however, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial. You will be required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

We are in Anfield, Liverpool, Mere Lane Group Practice serves approximately 8,600 patients and is part of the Anfield & Everton PCN. We pride ourselves on delivering responsive, patient-focused care supported by a multi-disciplinary team including GPs, ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and Admin staff.

To liaise and be the first point of contact for clinicians, staff, patients, carers and non-clinical service providers

To respond appropriately to contentious, sensitive, and difficult enquiries to ensure a satisfactory conclusion

Responsible for answering incoming calls and emails, dealing with their requests for information effectively

To reschedule appointments and clinics when requested and by the deadlines specified, using the computerised system.

To maintain and update records as appropriate

To ensure appropriate handover of information relating to reception/ administrative work
