Phlebotomist

Job summary

Due to progression within the team, we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as part-time phlebotomists.

This role offers part time flexible morning or school hour shifts up to 30 hours per week.

You will work under the direction of the lead nurse and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, as requested by the clinical team, to the entitled patient population. In addition, the Phlebotomist will be expected to support the nursing team on an as required basis, tidying areas, restocking etc.

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the Phlebotomist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample.

Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols.
