Main duties of the job

Battersea Fields Practice values its links with the local community, and aims to work in partnership with patients and the local community to provide excellent, patient-centred health care. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients. The post-holder will also work collaboratively with the other members of the practice team to maximise the practice achievement in relation to external clinical and non-clinical contracts.

About us

Battersea Fields is a rapidly expanding practice located in the heart of Battersea, led by a team of four partners. The practice currently has a list size of around 14.5K patients and operates out of two sites our main site, Austin Road, and a small branch site, Thessaly Road. We serve a very diverse patient population and work closely with local community organisations to ensure that the needs of all patients are met.

The practice is well regarded by its patients, with the majority of patients rating the practice as excellent or good in both the Friends and Family Test and National GP Patient Survey. We are rated Good by CQC and are high QOF scorers.

Battersea Fields is a training practice and regularly hosts GP trainees. Alongside our trainees, we also provide teaching placements for a wide range of undergraduate students from both medical and allied health professional courses.

In April 2026 we will be relocating our branch site to a newly-built large health centre in Sleaford Street, part of the new Nine Elms development, and expect the list size to grow substantially over the next 12 months.

The move to Sleaford Street will allow the practice to both build on its existing training activity and to expand the services it currently provides, to include minor surgery, a travel clinic and other enhanced provisions.
