Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Clinical Care:

  • Providing medical services to the practice population, including consultations, assessments, diagnoses, and referrals.

  • Patient Management:

  • Developing care plans for patients, particularly those with chronic conditions, and ensuring adherence to practice protocols.

  • Administrative Tasks:

  • Processing referrals, repeat prescriptions, and other administrative duties.

  • Telephone Triage:

    Dealing with phone calls and providing initial assessment of patient needs.

  • Documentation:

    Maintaining accurate and clear clinical records (using SystmOne).

  • Practice Contribution:

    Working collaboratively with other members of the practice team, contributing to practice meetings, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Personal Development:

    Participating in professional development activities, including educational meetings and annual performance reviews.

  • Additional Responsibilities:

  • Compliance:

    Adhering to practice policies and guidelines, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, and data protection.

  • Teamwork:

    Working effectively with other healthcare professionals and practice staff.
