Job summary
We are looking for two part-time Care
Navigators/Receptionists to join our busy and friendly team to provide a
high quality service to patients, doctors and other members of the Primary
Healthcare Team. Working 25 to 30 hours per week across our sites at Hessle, Brough and South Cave but cover may be required at Bubwith and Holme on Spalding Moor.
The candidates we are seeking should be experienced
in delivering excellent reception support, maintaining professionalism and
discretion at all times and be able to work independently and as part of a
team. Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential along
with the flexibility to cover for annual/sick leave. Knowledge of SystmOne
would be an advantage.
You will have experience of working with the
public, have a cheerful and polite manner, be able to multi-task and be a good
team player. You must be able to contribute to the maintenance of patient
confidentiality at all times, inside and outside the Practice.

Main duties of the job
You will need to be a good communicator with
excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure.
You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent
organisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empathetic character
is essential.
Your duties will include answering telephone calls,
registering patients, and general admin within the Practice. It is very
important to have a 'can do' attitude. It is also important to be flexible and
cover shifts when required.

Practice with 47,500 patients across five main practice sites - Brough, South
Cave, Hessle, Holme Upon Spalding Moor and Bubwith. Each of these sites has its
own personal characteristics and a varied patient mix as we cover commuting
areas for Hull, Leeds, and York, due to easy access to A63/M62, and also rural
East Yorkshire.
The ideal candidate will be able
to work in a fast-paced working environment and be able to adapt to change
easily. You will need to have a strong work ethic and be able to work under
pressure and in isolation, although there will always be a senior colleague in

Book in patients
and visitors in line with Practice appointments and visitors procedures.
Respond and/or
redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly and ensure unresolved
and urgent matters are passed onto incoming colleagues at end of shift.
Opening incoming
mail and distribute as per protocol.
Booking, amending,
and cancelling patient appointments.
Recording patient
information onto the clinical system.
Ensure waiting room
temperature is comfortable for patients and responsible for tidying the
waiting area (magazines, toys etc.) after each surgery
Answering incoming
telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.
Care Navigate all
patients, including referring patients to outside providers.
Book appointments
using Improving Access System.
Must be flexible to
provide holiday and sickness cover on a regular basis.
Maintenance of both
computerised and manual filing systems (scanning, filing etc.).
Ring Tasks sent by
Clinicians using the flagged system.
Prescriptions
Hand paper copies to patients when Dispensary is closed.
Make tea/coffee for
colleagues, doctors and visitors as required
Work safely at all
times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and
Procedures.
