Harbourside Family
Practice is a large well established 10,000 patient practice in
Portishead.
We are looking for
an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable receptionist to join our current
reception team on a part time basis for 16 hours a week. We are open between the
hours of 7:45am and 6:30pm. There will be 2 morning shifts and 2 afternoon shifts. The post-holder will need to work a Friday afternoon shift every other Friday until 6:30pm.
This is a varied
and interesting role and you'll be joining a friendly, supportive and hardworking
team who prides themselves on providing an excellent customer service to our patients.
We would love to
find someone who is great with people, has excellent communication skills, a
cheerful disposition, and a friendly, caring personality.
Previous GP
Receptionist experience would be an advantage, though not essential as full
training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Provide a first point of contact for patients and act as a key focal
point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses, and other staff.
Liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as
secondary care and community service providers.
Deal with all general queries, explain procedures and book appointments,
face to face and over the telephone.
Distribute information, messages and enquires to rest of the
multidisciplinary team.
Process all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Receive and make telephone calls as required in a timely and courteous
manner.
Enter requests for home visits ensuring careful recording of all the
details.
Prepare the reception area in the morning or evening and keep the
reception area tidy.
Open the surgery or close the surgery.
Enter patient information and book appointments on to the computer system.
Log scripts that are signed and to be distributed to Pharmacies.
Frank the mail.
Complete patient tasks.
