Job responsibilities
Job Summary:
Assist with patient recall processes and data quality initiatives.
Process incoming clinical correspondence and ensure it is actioned appropriately.
Process referrals and support the clinical staff using the appropriate referral pathways and processes
Issue repeat prescriptions using a computerised clinical
system in keeping with the practice protocol
To provide
general administrative support to the Practice Team.
Job Responsibilities:
Processing Correspondence
Process all electronic and paper correspondence coming in to the surgery
Filing correspondence to the clinical system
Assist with the scanning and work flowing of clinical documents
Adding clinical codes and additional information into patient records to reflect the content of clinical correspondence
Patient Recalls
Identify patients requiring routine reviews and vaccinations and book appointments with appropriate clinicians
Medical Records
Register new patients joining the surgery
Process patinet deductions in line with surgery protocol
Referrals
Using a digital dictation system to process patient referrals, letters and reports in an accurate and quality manner.
To administer patient referrals and appointments using computer referral/booking system.
Prescriptions
Process and issue repeat prescriptions in keeping with the practice protocol
Request
the re-authorisation of repeat prescriptions where necessary in line with
the practice protocol.
Ensure
that prescriptions are sent to the correct pharmacy, making any necessary
changes, as nominated by the patient
Other
Responding to patient queries
Provide cover for members of the Admin team
during periods of sickness and annual leave which may include working
additional hours/days.
To develop skills and competencies in new
software/processes as required
Any other duties commensurate with the role, as
directed by the Deputy Practice Manager or Practice Manager.

gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other

- In
the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the
post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to
patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information
relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such
information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential

relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the
business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in
accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to
confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.
- Failure
to observe these rules will be regarded by your employers as serious or
gross misconduct, which could result in disciplinary action being taken
against you.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their
own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health
& Safety Policy, to include:

personal security systems within the workplace according to practice
guidelines
- Identifying
the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a

co-operate in maintaining their place of work in a tidy and safe
condition.

appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy

Non-Smoking Policy
Courtside
Surgery operates a Non Smoking Policy, which limits smoking in the
workplace. Employees are required to
observe the rules laid down in the policy and failure to do so may result in
disciplinary action being taken.
