Operations Manager - Primary Care

Job summary

To work closely with the Practice Manager, to provide a timely and responsive service for the implementation and maintenance of all business, administrative, clinical and patient services.To help with the production of performance and quality standards within the practice. To help manage data quality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical system.

Main duties of the job

Create and maintain, in conjunction with the Practice Manager, a practice policy register and ensure the reviews are completed appropriately. Responsible for the organisation and administration of medical teaching rotas. Have a thorough understanding and oversee Enhanced Service provision, QoF and clinical contracts. Give support/education to clinicians and administrative staff to maintain contracts. Liaise with all members of the practice team to facilitate seamless interface between administration and clinical issues. Liaise with Reception Supervisor and administration staff to ensure high standards and targets are achieved. Oversee premises maintenance, delegating works as appropriate. Assist with quality initiatives. Assist with Quality standards such as CQC adherence.

About us

We are an extremely friendly team comprising 3 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP and 1 GP retainer, 4 practice nurses, 2 HCA's, reception and admin teams. We have just over 8,000 registered patients and are based in central Petersfield town and easily accessible by train or car/motorway and have a free on-site car park.

Information Technology - Implementation and maintenance of all associated requirements, upgrades, security and services supporting the practices IT systems by delegation. Run reports and searches within EMIS to enable the reporting of clinical activity.

Quality - Alert the management team to issues of quality and risk. Provide consistent approach to processing of Alert Notifications. Identify any alerts and act promptly on the alerts. Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision. Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance. Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients needs. Effectively manage own time, workload and resources and those of others

To oversee the security and validation processes for the clinical system. To ensure support is provided for advice and training for current and new practice staff in the use of the clinical system. To ensure an equipment log is kept so that practice owned equipment is readily identifiable.
