Job summary

At Orchard Medical Centre we are looking to recruit a receptionist/administrator to join our friendly supportive reception and administration team, which will be a mix of morning and afternoon shifts. You will play a vital role in the smooth running of our practice, be the first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to our patients. If you have a caring nature, are a motivated team player and have an ability to work under pressure we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Greet patients and visitors to the practice.

Book in, amend and cancel patient appointment in line with practice appointments procedures ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system.

Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.

Action all practice emails

Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy

Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly. Undertake administration tasks as allocated by Manager.

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures

Action repeat prescriptions in an efficient manner, following the practices procedures

Action patient queries via the practice website

Action Electronic Letters from the Hospitals and other agencies

Scanning of all patient letters

Contact patients with results etc via text, letter and telephone

Action any e-referrals as deemed necessary by a Doctor/Nurse

Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records

Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed electronically in correct patient record

Maintaining confidentiality at all times

Orchard Medical Centre is a friendly practice situated in the heart of Boothstown with a growing patient population of over 3400 patients. We are a dedicated team of 2 GP Partners and a skilled administration and management teams who provide essential support to ensure patients can receive the treatment they need and provide healthcare to our community,

We are part of the Walkden & Little Hulton PCN and work collaboratively with other practices.
