Providing patients with a friendly and confidential service for the booking of their appointments and handling of their general queries. Also responsible for supporting Doctors, Nurses, other members of the primary health care team and visiting clinical specialists with the smooth running of their clinics.
Carrying out day to day tasks as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the practice and adhering to the practice procedures whilst doing so.
Main duties of the job
Booking appointment for patients
Care Navigating patients to the appropriate services within the practice
Dealing with general enquiries from patients and identifying the ones that can be dealt with immediately and the ones that need another member of staff to be involved.
Carrying out the daily tasks set for you by the Team Leaders.
Managing your time and workload efficiently.
Assisting with the smooth running of clinics and surgeries.
Providing help and advice to all visitors to the surgery and the building.
Dealing with repeat prescriptions and prescription queries (where training has been provided)
Attending training and staff meetings as required.
Dealing with tasks that clinicians may assign to you in an effective and timely manner.
Covering colleagues shifts at either surgery in the event of absence or holiday.
Effective communication between staff, the practice, patients and other agencies.
Knowledge and implementation of the practice protocols and procedures.
Supporting the Reception Team Leaders with other reasonable duties as required.
Follow the practices Infection Prevention & Control policies and protocols.
Admin duties that will include scanning information onto system one.
About us
We are a group practice so all our clinicians work across both sites and they all have access to the same patients records and information meaning patients can chose between both sites as well as a range of familiar faces for consultations.
The practice recently became and Accredited Training Practice with Leeds University and with our accredited GP Trainers we can have GP Registrars and FY2 Trainee GPs as well as numerous medical students.
The practice currently has its largest staffing levels to date with over 90 members of staff.

Hours will be on a rota basis covering times between 7.30am and 6.30pm and may include weekends. Your contract will stipulate the minimum amount of hours you are required to do on a weekly basis.
