Job summary
Huntcliff Surgery is looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly, motivated administrative team. We are seeking someone who is reliable, compassionate and calm under pressure, with excellent telephone and
face to face communication skills.
We are open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and flexibility is
essential as you will be required to work between these hours to meet service needs.
Previous reception experience is helpful but not essential as full
training will be provided. You'll also receive training in EMIS Web, our clinical system
The role is busy, varied and central to the experience our patients receive - we are looking for someone who thrives in a people-focused, fast paced environment.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties to support the clinical and non clinical teams. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and directing patients sensitively in person and over the telephone.
- Using the appointment system effectively, including booking, amending and managing appointments.
- Supporting patients to access online services and navigating common queries.
- Processing information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team.
- Acting as a central point of contact for patients, internal teams and external partner services.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Providing general administrative support as required.
You must be flexible to work outside of core office hours when necessary and be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
