The Crown Surgery is a high achieving; busy dispensing Practice in Eccleshall, Stafford with a list size of 8000 patients. We are looking for a self-motivated, committed Practice Nurse to work independently and join our friendly GP practice. You will be expected to work as part of the practice team with good communication and interpersonal skills
Main duties of the job
You
will have practice nursing experience in a GP setting and also possess the
following skills (however further training could be offered to suitable
candidates):
- Nursing Duties
in General Practice
- Immunisations
(Adult & Child)
- Cervical
Cytology, Sexual Health and Contraception
- Travel Health
experience
- Quality and
Outcome Framework knowledge
- Chronic
disease management especially Diabetes and COPD
- Experience in undertaking Learning Disability Reviews
- An interest in Safeguarding
- Experience of EmisWeb
Clinical System (desirable but not essential)

Job responsibilities
- Demonstrates fully

to make effective lifestyle changes.
- All immunisations are to be the
responsibility of the Practice Nurse and every effort should be made to
ensure national targets in childhood immunisations are met in line with
agreed protocols.
- To maintain accurate patient
records and statistics.
- To manage the supply of clinical
equipment and consumables and order when appropriate.
- Aware of local and
national policies for obtaining smears
- Maintains accurate
record of findings, results and specimens sent
- Gives appropriate
information to patients
- Refers
appropriately if indicated
- Investigates other
symptoms appropriately i.e. HVS / Chlamydia swabs
- Determines and
implements appropriate treatment for superficial wounds
- Assessment and
removal of sutures / clips

on the immunisation programmes according to local and national guidelines.
