Job summary
Burnt Ash Surgery are looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly
Reception Team. The practice is currently working collaboratively with Downham Family Medical Practice with a view to a full merger in the near future. Applicants will be expected to be adaptable
to work across both sites.
The position is for 30-37.5 hours per week. This is based on a 08.00 am start
and the afternoon shift with a 6.30pm finish. This can vary from week to week,
depending on the needs of cover during sickness and annual leave. Flexibility
is essential.
Saturday mornings are part of our enhanced access service and there is the option to work these sessions on a rotation basis.
We are a friendly team, who are supportive of each other and there will be scope to develop new skills.
Main duties of the job
Duties include:
Covering reception desk, processing admin duties for clinical staff, answering telephone calls and general
administration such as filing and liaising
with other health care providers in a professional manner. The duties are
variable, depending on what is required on the day.
There are many opportunities to expand your role as you go forward in areas such as Prescribing Clerk and processing clinical letters through the Docman system.
Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable
and willing to learn.
The applicant must have the ability to
prioritise workload.
Applicants must have the ability to work within a team, have some
experience in dealing with the public and basic IT skills.
Previous experience of working in General Practice is desirable however, training will be available for any candidates that show a passion for learning.
