Main duties of the job

Provide general medical services to the practice population in accordance with current best practice and GMC Good Medical Practice guidelines.

Conduct consultations, home visits (when necessary), and telephone/video consultations as required.

Provide appropriate diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral in line with clinical policies and NICE guidance.

Manage acute and chronic illnesses, promoting continuity of care and patient-centred decision-making.

Provide clinical advice, support, and mentorship to the wider clinical and administrative team as required.

Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely medical records using System One.

Participate in the management of patients with long-term conditions, including proactive care planning.

Undertake medication reviews, prescribing safely and effectively in line with practice and national protocols.

Support and participate in local and national enhanced services and QOF activities.

Contribute to the management of urgent and on-the-day patient demand through duty doctor or triage sessions.

Support repeat prescribing systems and medication safety processes.
