Haven Health in Felixstowe is a thriving practice dedicated

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Care Navigator to join our team
and to contribute in providing excellent patient care.
As a Care Navigator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering patient care and services from the first encounter to our diverse patient population. You will be well supported by an established team to provide comprehensive support and manage day to day interactions as you will be a focal point for our patients in accessing appropriate heath care.
Main duties of the job
To provide
comprehensive administrative support for the general practice and to act as
focal point for patients and staff.
To receive, assist and direct patients in
accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,
efficient and effective way
Offer general
assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to
patients and other visitors either in person or via the telephone.
Facilitate effective
communication between patients and members of the healthcare community.
Ideally we would seek a candidate with primary care experience however to facilitate patient
access via AskmyGP and SystmOne - training will be given.

Job responsibilities
To respond to all queries and requests for assistance
from patients and visitors at reception ensuring at all times that enquires
from patients are efficiently and courteously handled.
To ensure that
telephones are answered promptly and politely,
accurate messages taken and transferred to the appropriate person as
necessary, supplying information as required in a timely fashion.
Use the surgery clinical computer system for appointments, patient data, repeat prescriptions and other
patient related tasks. (Our ideal candidate will have primary care experience however, training will be provided where necessary)
Collect any necessary
information from the patient for their consultation, deal with any enquiries
and provide any information the patient may need.
To advise patients of relevant charges for
private services, accept payment and issue receipts if necessary
To operate start and
end of day procedures in line with practice policy and ensure premises are
prepared for staff to receive patients and also secured after use.
Any other
clerical/reception duties as deemed appropriate and requested by senior
receptionists or line managers.

- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- One years experience in busy customer service or reception environment.
- Experience of working in a team.
- IT literate preferably confident using microsoft Office
- Understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to translate information and details accurately, both verbally and in writing.
Desirable
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of clinical systems, including SystmOne.
