Job summary
Stow Surgery have a vacancy for an experienced Healthcare Assistant.
You would be joining our longstanding team of nurses and healthcare assistants, working in a purpose built building with exceptional views and a supportive cohort of patients.
We can be flexible with the number of hours worked (between 18 and 26) and the job plan however there will be a requirement to work until 6.30pm on Wednesdays.
Main duties of the job
Phlebotomy & INR Clinic
Urinalysis
ECGs
Hypertension clinics
New Patient & NHS Health checks
Acting as a
Chaperone
Diabetic reviews (including Diabetic foot checks
Removal of
sutures and Clips
Ear Syringing
Administration
of vaccinations -B12,
pneumococcal and flu
Basic Wound Care
Supporting Minor Surgery clinics
About us
We are a 6,000 patient practice based in the North Cotswolds. We have a stable patient population and an elderly cohort of patients.
We are in the enviable position of occupying a new build property and an active patient group who fundraise for the provision of new equipment and provide other support to the practice.

- To work to agreed practice standards and protocols
The Healthcare Assistant is guided by practice protocols but is required to use a degree of initiative. The Healthcare Assistant also provides support for other members of the primary healthcare team and contributes towards the co-ordination of team activities.

- Previous experience of venepuncture and blood pressure taking

- Previous relevant clinical experience
